Overview
Suzuki's only pickup was a badge-engineered Nissan Frontier (D40), assembled by Nissan in Tennessee and unveiled at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show for the 2009 model year. It came as a four-seat Extended Cab or five-seat Crew Cab (Canada got the Crew Cab only).
The 2.5-liter four (152 hp) was standard on Extended Cabs, while the 4.0-liter V6 (261 hp, 281 lb-ft) was optional there and standard on Crew Cabs, with 4WD available. At launch, Extended Cabs came in Base, Comfort, Premium and Sport trims and Crew Cabs in Base, Sport and the off-road RMZ-4.
It won Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road 2009 4x4 of the Year, but sales since 2009 total just 5,808, rarely above 200 a month. It ended in 2010 in Canada and 2012 in the US.
