Overview

Unveiled at the 2005 New York Auto Show, the i-Series replaced the Hombre as Isuzu's US pickup and was based on the Colorado/Canyon. It was sold only in the United States and used North American GM powertrains, styling and equipment rather than Isuzu's global design.

Two models launched for 2006: the i-280 with the 2.8-liter four (extended cab only) and the i-350 with the 3.5-liter five-cylinder (extended or crew cab). For 2007 the 2.9-liter and 3.7-liter engines made them the i-290 and i-370.

Sales were poor - just 1,377 through February 2006 - and it ended when Isuzu withdrew from the US after 2008.
