Overview
The 2005 Dakota rode on the ND platform shared with the Mitsubishi Raider and gave up the regular cab, offering only Club and Quad Cab bodies. The 3.7-liter V6 made 210 hp and the 4.7-liter V8 230 hp, with a 260-hp High Output V8 also offered.
The truck was refreshed at the 2007 Chicago show as a 2008 model with cargo-box utility rails, heated bench seats, best-in-class towing of up to 7,050 lb, the longest standard bed in the class and a revised 302-hp 4.7-liter V8.
By 2010 it was considered part of the Ram lineup, although the tailgate still said Dodge, and the last truck was built on August 23, 2011.
Note: Wikipedia classes the Dakota as mid-size; it is listed here because it bridged the compact and full-size segments.
